Thala Ajith Kumar and Illaiyathalapathy Vijay are two biggest stars in Kollywood. Ajith and Vijay does not share anything in common and has unique style and screen presence like no other stars in kollywood. They have their own standards and have maintained it for the last few decades.
The choices made by Thala Ajith Kumar and Vijay are always different and the directors who they work with are also different. They both follow different styles. Thala Ajith these days prefers to go ahead with salt and pepper look representing his real age while Vijay still does play guy next door kind of roles and does excel in it. Ajith dismantled his Fans association as he felt that it wasn’t going on a proper right direction, Vijay on the other hand has numerous fan clubs and association all over India as well as worldwide. Vijay regularly stays in touch with his fans and interacts now and then before his film’s releases. Fans fight between two competing actors like MGR-Sivaji, Rajini-kamal and now it is Vijay-Ajith.
During the earlier days, fans were quite matured to an extent where fans of one actor will hate the other actors films and nothing much more than hating, everything ends just by hating and doesn’t go beyond the normal hating level. Previously these fans of both the actors didn’t fight so much because there wasn’t any powerful mediums to fight and show their hatred. But these days fan wars between Ajith and Vijay have reached another level and more popular because of the emerging of Digital mediums like social media in which peoples of age groups starting from 15-18 are actively involved.
These fan fights started reaching new heights when social media boomed. The first ever fight happened was in Orkut where an Ajith fan posted a very positive review about Aalwar (which is considered as a worst film of ajith) and praising it as well as writing rubbish about the film Pokiri (which was a big time blockbuster hit and most favourite movie of majority of Vijay fans). But in next few days the real results were known and then Vijay’s fans started taking revenge on Ajith and making him troll all over the network. After few years, Vijay started giving a string of failures and then Ajith fans started a community called as “Vijay Olipavar Sangam” and started heavily trolling all vijay films which were bombed at the box office.
After some point of time these fights went on to another level after Facebook started becoming famous among all peoples. A page named “Vijay Olipavar Sangam – VOS” was made by Ajith fans and all Vijay movies were trolled as his movies were actually getting negative content for its story and other elements. After few days this page was hacked by a Vijay fan and its name was changed to “Vijay Olipavar Sangathai Olikkum Sangam- VOSOS” and thus it lead to the starting of many pages in Facebook against Vijay and so his fans started establishing pages to troll Ajith in return. This is how the fan fights started and still it continues.
At present, some of the recent pages which are created by Ajith for the purpose of trolling and discriminating Vijay are Kokki Kumar, Konjam Nadinga Vijay, etc. These pages went to an extent that, during the time of Illaiyathalapathy Vijay’s Puli release most of the pages like Kokki Kumar started various trolls and memes which were heavily criticizing the film but the sad part was that most of the posts were made by the peoples who haven’t watched the film. It also made the producers of the film to approach police officials and track the cyber culprits who were responsible for various untrue trolls and memes. Even stars gets affected due to this Fan wars, for instance if a star praises Vijay then Ajith fans will start posting various untrue trolls and memes of the star who praised Vijay. This is the recent trends of all troll pages of big stars.
Ajith–Vijay fans still seems to think that trolling and abuses are healthy and acceptable behavior. What they still didn’t realize is that their abusive acts online are only bringing shame to their heroes and not respect.
