Ajith’s upcoming Nerkonda Paarvai is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films that will hit screens this year. The film, produced by Boney Kapoor, is an official remake of Hindi blockbuster film, Pink. The original version starred Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Andrea Tariang and Kriti Kulhari.
As the release date of Nerkonda Paarvai is nearing, producer Boney Kapoor, in an interview, revealed that he is considering to release the film in China. As a producer, he tasted success by distributing late actor Sridevi’s Mom, which collected $16 million in China. Speaking about the possibility of releasing Nerkonda Paarvai in China, he said, There’s huge potential in China. They have about 50,000 screens and they need content, which wee produce a lot. Earlier, the Chinese State-controlled which films would release but now there are private distributors too. More clarity on Nerkonda Paarvai’s China release will be made after the film’s grand release on Augst 8 in India.
Boney Kapoor also revealed that Pink director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury had written the role for someone in Ajith’s age group. Later, he had to make changes to the script when Amitabh Bachchan came on board. Boney Kapoor also revealed that he and H Vinoth have kept the spirit and soul of Pink intact. They kept in mind the star power of Ajith plus the kind of acceptance the subject would have in this region.
The Bollywood producer also added that the director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury was extremely satisfied with the new situations and scenes that have been added to Nerkonda Paarvai. The Tamil version has Shraddha Srinath, Abirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tariang in the lead roles. If NKP releases in China it will the first Tamil movie to be released in China.
