Actor Suriya who is gearing up for the release of KV Anand’s Kaappaan had recently given a speech during the 40th-anniversary celebrations of Agaram Foundation, an organization that aims at providing educational needs to underprivileged children.
In the speech, the actor had criticized the recent draft of National Educational Policy (NEP), NEET exams and the much-debated 3 language policy. The actor had also mentioned that the NEP is not drafted keeping the underprivileged students in mind and that the 3 language policy is being imposed upon students.
Suriya’s comments had invited criticism from members of the ruling political party. In the wake of this recent incident, actor Kamal Haasan had expressed solidarity and support for Suriya’s comments and had also condemned the comments made by the ruling party against the actor. Earlier, noted filmmaker and politician Seeman had also conveyed his support to Suriya’s statements.
