Sangli Bungli Kadave thorae is directed by Ike who is the grandson of legendery M.R Radha . This movie is also makes the debut of Director Atlee as a producer.
Vasu (jiiva) is a real estate broker who along with his partner Sooranam (soori) get houses sold. They do a lot of gimmicks to sell the houses. Jiiva ambition is to buy a bungalow for his mother (radhika). Jiiva meets sridivya in one of the incidents while selling the house and they both fall for eachother in the process. Vasu somehow buys a house even after knowing that the house is rumored to be an haunted place. Jiiva family moves in and they find out Jumbulingam (Thambi Ramaiah) and his wife (Devadarshini) are already staying there without the knowledge of others and they claim that it is their house. Both the families decides to stay together and then wired things happens in the house which leads to the horror part of the story with interesting scenes mixed with fun elements and sentimental touch in the climax.
Jiiva has done justice to his role. Jiiva character in the movie is not out of the box one but its decent and keeps the movie going. SBKT will be the big break that jiiva is waiting for. Lets hope for that because he deserves it.
Sridivya role doesn’t have much scope in the movie. She is a talented actress but off late she is not given a proper role to perform.
Soori comedy has worked well and he makes the audience laugh at regular intervals. Other actors like Radhika,Radharavi, Thambi Ramaiah have done a neat job playing supporting roles.
SKBT works well in adult oriented comedies . First half is neatly packed with good amount of comedy and suspense and in the interval the film reaches its high point.
But in the second half the film was not that engaging like in the First half . The sentimental scenes dint work well and there was nothing new for the audience to witness in the second half.
Cinematography by Sathyan sooryan, editing by T.S Suresh, music by Vishal Chandrasekhar are the backbone of the movie. Kudos to the director for delivering a decent film as his debut.
Verdict: SKBT is a good one time watch with your family .
